'The Unquiet Dead'

What's that a-moaning coming from the mortuary? Why, it's only the latest episode of the Doctor Who Rewatch Podcast or, as we like to call it, 'Billie's Big Day Out'.

Yep, the apparently endless lust for life present in Rose Tyler isn't dead yet, as Ecclestone decides to take her straight from watching the obliteration of her home planet to the dramatically less traumatic tourism of walking corpses. In all fairness, this one can't be chalked up to alien-insensitivity like last week, no, this time it's the much more reassuring revelation that this bloke don't know how to drive his time gizmo proper.

But not to worry, as regardless of their destination Rose and Ecclestone are gonna have a whale of a time, with celebrity encounters, theatre trips and the opportunity to make a member of the working class feel like a proper THICKO - fantastic!

'The End of The World'

It's the end of the world as we know it - but do we feel fine? That's the question we ask on this week's episode, as we leap straight from the Auton melee of 'Rose' to young Billie's first journey into the far flung future, a future in which The Doctor thinks it's going to be a massive laugh for Rose to witness the ultimate destruction of the planet which has been her home her entire life.

Luckily, it turns out it IS a massive laugh, with cosmetic surgery, talking trees and at least one incompetent steward available to ridicule so loudly that I suspect his ears are burning!

As always, although the podcast is essentially a commentary, we try and make it a general discussion of the episode, so should you want to listen to this delightful podcast by the the side of a road, that is very much an option - even more so as we try out some brand new audio equipment this week that may leave your eardrums a-bleeding - in a good way!

‘Rose’

So it begins!

Yep, our long gestating mistake is finally birthing itself today, all over the space-time continuum! It seems we haven’t learnt our lesson from The Lost Rewatch Podcast, as WHINECAST are diving back into the fray and preparing to have our polarities reversed on a weekly basis - as we look back at every Goddam episode of ‘Doctor Who’ since its 2005 revival in a weekly podcast commentary/review.

So, let’s not waste anymore TIME, shall we? (It’s a time travel pun. There will be more. Oh so many more). This week we’re looking at the Russell T Davies scripted ‘Rose’, the episode that coincidentally introduced us to megacompanion Rose Tyler, but more importantly, introduced a giant swathe of viewers to Ecclestone’s brooding, northern, possibly newborn, Ninth (ish) Doctor. We won’t get long to appreciate old Ecclescake’s Doctor, so get ready to board the nostalgia train - all of time and space awaits!

ALL OF WHINE AND SPACE presents THE DOCTOR WHO REWATCH PODCAST!

ALL OF WHINE AND SPACE are thrilled to announce the start of our new mega project - THE DOCTOR WHO REWATCH PODCAST!

It's an idea we've been kicking around for a long time, something that has tempted us like an audio seductress...but we wanted to wait until the time was right and we were ready to shoulder this Goliath of a task! But the time is now, so from this Monday onwards we'll be releasing a (more or less) weekly podcast commentary looking back at every episode of Doctor Who from its 2005 revival onwards!

Why only post 2005? Well, frankly, it's because that's what we really know, what we're really connected to and what we've grown up with. We feel that if we're going to embark on a project of this magnitude we need to be honest about the limits of our Who knowledge - because God knows that'll be apparent soon enough! We're going to aim to keep episodes under an hour (if possible) and, as with all our commentaries, whilst they can be listened to along with the show, we're gonna try and make things a general discussion of the episode, so that folks can listen to the podcasts whilst stood by the side of a road/in an abandoned quarry/in the Peak District at night - or any locale of your choosing!

So, we hope you'll join us on this misguided journey through all of time and space and check back with us this Monday for our very first instalment, our commentary for the episode that re-started it all, the Russell T Davies penned 'Rose'!

Also, all one bajillion of our podcasts can found at 'All of Whine and Space' and both iTunes and Stitcher by by searching 'All of Whine and Space'.
